dreams do come true

My dream to see Chelsea fc live at Stamford Bridge has come true! This morning I got tickets to the February 25th game against Bolton Wanderers.

Sometimes I'm a super tourist...

In other news the first week of classes ended well. We had the first cultural excursion on friday to Canterbury and Leeds Castle.
The Cathedral in Canterbury was spectacular. There was a graduation ceremony going on inside while we were going through. How lucky are they that graduation takes place in this beautiful, historic building?

Well apparently I am not able to upload any more pictures at this time because my internet is slow but I will post more about Leeds Castle and my saturday at Portobello market soon.

class

Classes started yesterday. I'm taking an Art History course which basically takes place in the museums around London. I'm really excited. The professor is a British woman. She took us to the National Gallery yesterday. It was so beautiful and has so many famous works. Today I had both of my classes with the professor from UWM about the Celts. Tomorrow we have British Life and Culture. I don't know if I've been this excited about classes ever.
I love this city. There is so much going on and so much history everywhere I look. I can't wait to explore the museums at my own pace and see all the city has to offer.
Once my internet gets fixed I'll upload some pictures so you can all see what I've been up to.
Hope all is well in the land of ice and snow. I could definitely get used to the weather here.

finally here

I got in yesterday after a bumpy overnight flight. We took the tube from Heathrow to the apartments in Kensington. Me and the girls I flew in with went for a walk around the area. It's so beautiful. I can't wait to not be exhausted and emotionally drained so that I can experience the real London. I also can't wait to go to my first Chelsea game.

Today we had orientation at the University of London Union, where my classes will be. It was long and tedious but we had 2 hours for lunch which was spent exploring. A man on stilts talked to me. definitely highlight of the day. I'm now cooking my first meal here. Classic spaghetti.

Tomorrow we have a sightseeing bus trip. Should be interesting and will hopefully inspire some more points of interest. I have yet to remember my camera but there will soon be pictures accompanying these posts.

See ya later.
